EBP Interventions by System
In the past children with serious emotional disorders were almost exclusively treated in either the office of a mental health professional or in a residential institution. A shift has occurred in the service delivery system in this country. The location of intensive treatment is moving from the office and institution to home and community settings. A system of care model was introduced to allow serviced to be offered in the least restrictive setting that is appropriate to the needs of the child and the family. Many believe that a comprehensive and coordinated array of services must be in place to meet the individual needs of the clients.
Listed below are four priority systems for EBP interventions. Within them you will find treatment approaches that have been noted to demonstrate evidence or promise.
