Bullying Prevention and Intervention: A Focus on Positive Youth Development and Resilience Workshop

Join us at our 27th Buffalo Niagara Summer Institute! Dr. Amanda Nickerson, Director of the UB Dr. Jean M. Alberti Center for the Prevention of Bullying Abuse and School Violence, will present a workshop bullying prevention and intervention. This workshop is designed to meet the needs of educators, mental health professionals, and other human service professionals interested in bullying and resilience in children and adolescents. The different types of bullying (physical, verbal, social, and cyber) will be defined, and research-based information about prevalence, characteristics, and consequences of bullying for youth will be provided. The focus of the workshop will be on best practices for preventing and intervening with bullying, emphasizing how educators and human service professionals can enhance internal and external resilience for youth involved in different roles in bullying.

Location: UB Center for Tomorrow, Flint & Maple Rds., Amherst, NY

Cost: $100 & $90 for Trauma Certificate Participants
