Elective Course Registration Instructions

The Buffalo Niagara Summer Institute offers seated MSW one-credit elective courses taught by expert local clinicians and faculty.

All June, July, and August one-credit MSW courses count toward the UB School of Social Work’s MSW degree.  All School courses approved as clinical courses that count towards social work licensure are listed here.

Our summer courses can be taken by current UB MSW students as well as non-matriculated or non-degree students.

CEs: New York LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT, and Psychology Contact Hours (CEs) and OASAS renewal hours are included as specified in the course descriptions.

Registration

Summer session registration opens in January.

  • Current UB SSW students: Register through the Hub Student Center in the same manner that you register for all other classes.

For more information visit the SUNY Tuition Waiver page.

DROP/ADD Deadlines

  • You may register (add) for a class up until the day it starts. However, the one-credit courses require that you complete the readings listed in the syllabus prior to the first day of class. Please register in advance so there is ample time for you to receive the syllabus and to complete your readings.
  • If you are unable to attend a class you have registered for, your last day to drop it is the first day of the class. As with all UB credit courses, if you change your mind about attending and do not drop the class, you will be billed by UB and required to make payment.
